I just took a little time to peruse the rss feeds in Bloglines and Tech Learning led me to their Site of the Day. The title was "Reinventing School, The Technology is Now". That sounded familiar, so I went to the link and it was very familiar. It was a resource that had inspired me earlier as I thought about Technology and Education.
I remember using it for classes when I did my Master's Degree. I graduated in 2000, so I was thinking that this was not a new site. I looked and was surpised to see that it was posted in 1995! That is over 10 years ago. Wow! I think that what it says still sounds relevant (at least it does to whoever picks out sites for TechLearning!). This is not the first time that I have encountered "old", but very meaningful websites.
What does that say for the progress of technology in education? What does it say for keeping the web current? and what implications are there for teachers who are guiding students to use the web?
